2 am rescue missions to catch a loose dog. Middle of the day calls to pick up a found kitten.
Treats for the dogs and cats. We do it all.
It's heartbreaking and scary, but there are things you can do for your pet to help ensure their safe return on the off chance they do go missing. Is your pet microchipped? Do they have an up-to-date tag with all your information on it? Learn more about what you can do to help your pet, and whom you can call if your pet goes missing.
Animal Control is about more than being the "dog catcher." We provide assistance to owners of lost pets, address complaints in the community, and help educate on the proper process if you happen upon a stray in your community.
Spay/Neuter Assistance Program
Our Humane Society provides financial aid vouchers to low income pet owners who need help affording the cost of having their dogs, cats or rabbits, spayed or neutered at local veterinary clinics/hospitals. The amount of financial aid depends on the type of animal and gender. In order to qualify for a voucher you must live within one of the towns that we contract with for shelter services. Contact our office for more information.

The Tri-Lakes Humane Society’s mission is to provide shelter to all stray and unwanted domestic animals and to find them a loving home as soon as possible. We also work toward educating the public about proper animal care and provide vouchers to those who would not otherwise be able to afford to Spay/Neuter their pets.
We are a non-profit, no kill shelter, so we have many animals looking for the right “forever” home. Located in Saranac Lake, TLHS serves the communities of Tupper Lake, Lake Placid, and Saranac Lake.
